Adam and Eve Winchester
Whatever you say about the names...we get that a lot.
Fri Jul 16, 2010 7:34pm

Eve waited until the last moment possible before walking into Backwood’s Court. She had brushed her hair nicely, put on her favorite light blue robes and her favorite heels, and remembered to place her wand in her pocket that evening; she was prepared to meet and greet, prepared to kiss ass, prepared to take verbal abuse and criticism. But, she wasn’t happy to note that she’d be doing all this completely sober. Such an occasion certainly warranted a drink or two, Eve thought, but Devon’s always eloquent threats forced her to abstain for the evening.

“Chin up, Eve,” a voice said off to her side. Eve turned to glance at her twin brother, Adam, conceding in her mind that she wouldn’t have gotten drunk that night anyways, not with her brother visiting. She had been tentatively contemplating offering her brother the DADA position that had yet to be filled, knowing some of the members of staff weren’t the happiest to take on a few DADA classes in addition to their own subjects. Adam wouldn’t be going back to his Auror position, not with his leg and shoulder injuries, but he could be a retired Auror, turned professor. And, it would give Eve and him the opportunity to re-form a bond that had long ago dissolved with absence.

‘Focus on the present, Eve,’ a snide voice inside her chided. Eve smiled uneasily at her brother, giving him a glass of butterbeer from the beverage bar. “Still glad you came?” she asked.

“Certainly,” Adam replied in his normal, distinguished tone, ever the polite man. His accent was far thicker than his sister’s, and between that and his formal, chivalrous manner, it was hard to image the two came from the same parents. “It’s interesting to see where you work.”

“It’s the least interesting thing in the world, I would say,” Eve said, gripping her glass and psyching herself up for her first interaction with parents.

“Yes, well,” Adam shrugged, remembering Eve’s moods well enough to know that he wasn’t going to change her mind or lift her spirits. “I think I may roam around for a while.”

“Alright,” Eve murmured, leaning back against the wall as she watched the people with hooded eyes. Adam walked off, recognizing a few of the more famous international pureblood families, but shooting everyone a bright smile.

Eve sighed a drank from her glass.
