Nothing quite as cheery as pink
Wed Jul 28, 2010 12:27pm

“Yeah, this year seems to be one of the worst we’ve had in a while,” Eve noted, picking around her turkey, mixing a small slice with some cranberry sauce. She made sure to keep the conversation in low tones, just in case one of the students were trying to listen in. “There’s been a few more pureblood families sending their kids here, a lot of whom have somewhat . . . outspoken views. They’re keeping us all on our toes,” she divulged, not going into the fact that she only recently caught wind of the fight between Emma Westbrook and Kim Baden, and the aftermath of it that caused more rumors than the actual fight itself.

“Not, not really,” Eve answered Sarah’s last question before taking a small bite of her dry mashed potatoes. “Devon and I have an agreement that we both remain here during the holidays, if only in the interest of fairness, so neither one of us has to resent the other for something like holiday leave,” she lied easily, more than comfortable with lying to someone to create an illusion of comradery between the two leaders of the school. As far as Eve knew, Sarah wasn’t privy to the full extent of their raw hatred for each other.

“I’m quite alright with that, though,” she went on. “It gives me a legitimate excuse to avoid my family. The summers are quite long enough for a visit to London,” she joked.
