Sarah could hardly believe it. Devon was like a thirteen year old with his first little girlfriend, trying to figure out how to explain it or what to tell others about it. Mary seemed equally (if not more) entertained by this.

Sarah tried not to look amused.

Extended stay. So this wasn't a teaching position? She was just... staying? "Well, then welcome," Sarah said. "It's always good to have another person around here. It's a bit... small of a community, so it's always good," she reiterated.

"Where are you from Mary? And how do you and Devon know each other?" she asked. Sarah still had some apprehensions about calling the Headmaster by his first name. Eve wove off the idea of titles instantly. Devon let her call him what she liked, which leaned more towards Headmaster than first name, though she was closer to him than Eve. As a result, his name was slower than the rest of the question. Not by much, but like she had to concentrate on the word.
