Cassandra and Devon
I wasn't planning on throwing a party
Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:27pm

Cassandra's hand touched her nose when the stud was gone. She felt different without it. "Wait, do you have a warrant for that?" she asked the Auror he handed it to, and they shoved a piece of paper at her. She ignored Sarah and ran after the caravan, jogging to keep up beside Devon. His face was still, now, but he wasn't well.

He had looked initially to Sarah, but lost her to a soapbox. "Cassandra," he tried instead, and Cassandra was next to him, wide eyes watching everything. "What?" he asked. She was thinking something.

And Eve cackled on behind them.

"I didn't know," she said. She looked up at him, still rushing to keep up, "You knew."

Which was precisely when he tuned her out. She could tell he was doing it; his eyes shifted back in front of him. He was listening to Eve laughing, and watching Ravenscroft's beckoning finger and the man's enormous back in front of him. He wished Sarah would shut up. She kept talking, she knew the law - it would have regularly impressed him, but he was distracted, he disliked hovering instead of walking - but she was a nag at Ravenscroft, and Devon could have sworn something jabbed into his rib cage with every syllable Sarah spoke.
