Shelby was satisfied when he said he was pure. Delilah was bound to get herself into trouble one of these days with assumptions like that. Shelby had already seen half a dozen muggleborns come through the Rakin commons, though most seemed to be visiting, but even the purest house seemed to be soiled. At least by blood traitors.

Her parents had talked about the Hardings. The one that taught flying, for one. Then a brother? Her father was shocked a few years ago when the name resurfaced. "He should have stayed dead," was the comment a couple weeks ago.

Even Torn seemed a little ... off. Just because someone was pure didn't mean they'd be the best company anyway. "You mean do we know them personally," Shelby corrected him. "Hmmmm. I'm sure I've at least seen Sloane's mother. Emma..." she tried to remember. There were always those yearly events and Shelby could remember faces better than names anyway. She always sketched them and it was by their nose or their eyes or a set of unusually small ears that she remembered them. "I think I've seen her once or twice. Delilah?" she asked. Delilah would remember. She was the social butterfly at the very least. The tracker of names.

Indifferent as Torn seemed around these two, the three of them clearly had the same upbringing, the same childhood. Irritating memories surfaced of him being dragged to some party or another, having... more

Shelby's cheeks went instantly hot and she knew there would be two spots on her cheeks that would be nice and pink, as if she'd dressed up as a doll. She scoffed. "Whatever, that was just stupid and... more
