Hand made dolls from England
Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:59

During the war my mother was a preteen, her mother was a seamstress. They lived in an old store (I believe in London) where her mother made dolls to sell to the soldiers. These dolls had store bought heads, and the rest of them was made from material. My mother, being from a poor family never had one of those dolls for herself. She is 80 years old now and still talks about how she admired them and wished she could have one herself. She did answer the door and sell some of them herself for her mother during WW2. Even if I could find a picture of one I would be grateful. She is the last member of her family alive and it would mean a great deal to her.
