Ears, Coloring, and Puppies

Roxi is 9 months old, she will be 10 months on the 21 of this months. She is beautiful, except for her ears, they stand straight up. I ran into her breeder and she told me I needed to work on her ears. She told me to use gum, but I have read somewhere that it is pointless to try and fix their ears after they are a certain age. I am not going to show Roxi, and I am not sure if I am going to breed her. So the only reason I would try to fix her ears, is so she would look 100% and not just 95%.

My other question: Roxi has black on her face and all over her tail. Her body is a beautiful red. Does she have all the coloring she is going to get? I think she looks a little funny without any black on her body, but everyone I run into says that she is original because of her red coast.

My last question: I have not made up my mind to breed Roxi. She is registered and does have a champion in her blood line, but I donít really know all about it. I think she is beautiful and smart and the best dog in all the world, but I want to better the breed not just throw puppies out there. I am attaching some pictures (they are not the best, but you will be able to see her coloing and her ears) in hopes that someone could maybe help me decided. Be gentile though because I think she is the prettiest sheltie alive!(roxi is also 16 inches tall)
Thanks for all the help,
Ashley and Roxi.

She's cute. Her face is marked very similar to Nico's. Ignore the shaggy hair around the ears, he was overdue for a trim when I took the pic but it's a good pic of his face. Her ears will always be... more

Cute! I love him! I love that face. Its funny how they all look alike, but they are still so different looking! So, no point in trying to fix her ears? She looks nice with her ears down, but i have... more

She has all the markings that she'll ever have. Females don't grow as much coat as the boys but her coat will continue to fill in for the next year or so. By spaying her, you're reducing her risk of... more

Foxy Roxi is what we call her! I really only wanted to breed her once, and yes i would guarantee the pups a home. I am not looking to make money or anything. I thought that was what i wanted to do,... more

If you're looking for a companion for Roxi, I'd suggest going for either a retired show dog or a rescue dog. A lot of breeders will also "grow" pups out to see if they are going to be good show dogs, ... more
