I'm new here and have a question about worms. It is now July here in Mn. and our 2 yr. old sheltie has not received any heartworm medication. My question is, is it too late for her to get it and also how do you know if your dog has worms? She drags her butt alot and she also sort of rocks back and forth on her butt like she's trying to scratch herself back there. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The vet will need to take a blood test to make sure she is negative for heartworms before giving you heartworm medication. It's never too late to start as long as the dog is negative for heartworm.... more
