Hello Harold,

118,289 shipped 4/8/1944 to the War Department.

I do not believe you will find any factory records showing delivery to the U.S. Navy.

It appears that the Ordnance Department of the War Departrment (U.S.Army)recieved all of these guns. IT is thought that the U.S. Navy ended up with the great majority.

Shipping destinations varied in title at first. i.e.

Spring Field Ordnance District, Commanding officer SOD, Commanding Officer Springfield

A couple shoe shipment to Aberdeen. The rest say simply War Dept.

This is also true for the OSS silenced versions.
