Hello Greg,

Generally these can be adequately cleaned simply by soaking in Kerosene. That was the factory recommended method as stated in a small card packed with each gun.

There is nothing that should need replacement unless it is one of teh cadmium plated magazines which sometimes swell up with rust betw3een the inner and outer shells. That frequently requires the replacement of the magazine.

If you feel compelled to take the magazine apart, be careful that you do not disturb the adjustment of the lips.

You need a make shift tool like a cut down paint stir stick that will allow you to push the magazine follower down until the follower button is centered over the enlarged part of the follower slot. At that location the follower button can be pulled straight out. You can now slowly retract teh tool allowing the follower to raise. Caution - the spring can launch the follower if you simply pull the tool out quickly.

Thank you, John. BTW does one need to add any type of lubrication after being soaked in kerosene?

Hello Greg, Yes, you should sparingly lubricate the follower with a light gun oil. Excessive oil will just collect dirt, grit and grime. John Stimson
