I am considering buying a 4 1/2" Model C, Type II take down, with SN 70508 (I believe this dates the pistol to late 1940). It has black plastic grips with the HS logo in a circle. What I cannot reconcile is the fact that the pistol has a parkerized finish. Is this/could this be-a normal factory finish for a early wartime Model C? Thank you for your time.

I guess the whole message did not come thru. The finish is parkerized.
