Imperfect togetherness
Sun Sep 9, 2018 14:14

Hey Mr. Gammel, very good information. Thanks so much for clarifying the magazine coloration, I was wondering about that, even though I've been interested in High Standards since 1979, just recently joined the club and already learning a good deal. I have the Dance book, a good read but black and white photos only. :-( If the set looks otherwise good, the magazine (if needed) and weight, and even the tools could possibly be remedied at some time.

Hi Ron, I'm surprised at how often the Cadmium plated magazines show up on ebay. I already have probably 50 or so. The take-away is getting a GOOD one that hasn't swollen from interior rust so bad it ... more

Hi Ron, ALL 102's shipped with Cadmium plated magazines. It wasn't until the early 103's when they switched to blue with blue followers (metal). Some people call them black so I never know if they... more

Hello Jim, All 102's did not ship with cadmium plated magazines. The drawing change for the finish change was in August 1959 about a year before the 103's appeared. Certainly there was a time frame... more

Hello John and Ron, My apologies, I must have been thinking the round bottom weights vs. the flat bottoms with the 102/103 shift Sorry about that, Jim
