This was gonna be a great year.

After sending off her letter and little reward with Joella’s owl, Sammy bounded downstairs to the Common Room, still fully clad in her pajamas. (Batman: the classiest of all sleepwear products, especially when they were as cools as hers. She even had a cape.) She was honestly surprised at herself that she hadn’t thought to look yesterday, but coming back was always such an eventful time that it must have just slipped her mind. Or else maybe she’d thought it wouldn’t go up until Joella had announced the Assistant Captain. Which was her, by the way. So excited!

Either way, she was here now, grinning ear to ear at a piece of paper like a crazy person. She was excited to see how much Ben wanted to be a Beater, and while of course positions would have to be based on skill, the prospect of being Beater Buddies with her younger friend was super exciting. And she got input on that position business this year! Ahh!

She didn’t have a writing utensil with her but found one sitting on a nearby table. “Hopefully your owner doesn’t come looking for you in the next twenty seconds,” she muttered to it as she positioned it in her fingers and leaned toward the sheet.

Sammy Meeks, fifth year, Beater :)

She was horribly tempted to include her new title, but since Joella hadn’t written “Captain” by her own name, Sammy figured it was best not to show off. Still, she couldn’t wait to take on a more active role within her Quidditch family. And standing by the side of her friend (on whom she toooooootally didn’t have a crush) was going to be amazing. She had no delusions-... well, she had a few delusions about ruling the school as a Quidditch power couple, but she mostly knew that last part wasn’t really going to happen. But she could still dream while they worked together to achieve the first part: Pecari was going to rule the school, at least in terms of Quidditch.

To no one, she glowed, “Welcome to the age of the boar.”
