Ingrid felt really pumped for the new Quidditch season. Even though she wasn’t assistant captain, she hadn’t ever expected to be, and it was such an unexpected honour that Joella had even considered giving it to her. She was excited that she might get more to do this year. Kind of as assistant-assistant-captain, and Joella’s protegee. Plus there was that shiny Quidditch cup in the common room, which was definitely going to inspire everyone to give their best so that it could stay for another year.

She wasted no time signing up.

Ingrid Wolseithcrafte, fourth year, Chaser.

So far there were no new players but it was early days, plus they’d had reserves last year, so overall hopefully they would be able to fill the two vacant spots. It still felt so weird to think of a team without Liliana, but also to think about the way in which Liliana had exited the school… Ingrid wondered what had happened to her since. What had family had said or done… Families disagreed sometimes, and Merlin knew she got fed up sometimes of all the boring propriety stuff, especially as she wasn’t naturally good at it, but she still knew that to disappoint one’s family, and by extension to lose those ties that she’d been born with, that defined who she was, was the worst thing she could imagine - it would be so sad to be famililess. What boy was worth risking that for? She tried to push those thoughts out of her mind. They needed to focus, and to have another awesome year on the pitch.
