After a minor anxiety attack in the morning, Jack felt better about their chances than before. Certainly it was a disappointment, not having a full team, but it wasn't going to spell a loss for them. He wasn't fond of the combined team name - though it was admittedly more preferable to Pecalus - but working with Teppenpaw wasn't nearly as awful as he expected.

Jack was the seasoned Chaser of Aladren, having played the position since his first year, so he did not aim to disappoint. He trusted Louis and Amelia to do their best, but he had a high expectation for himself to keep the Chasers afloat. Goals did not happen without a fight; he only hoped Eden would take them home with a win. As he readied himself for today's match, new uniform robes ironed and impeccable, he gave himself a little pep talk in the mirror to abate his nervousness. He didn't want to fail especially as part of a combined team.

He would be playing against his sister's team again. Whilst Jack wasn't directly playing against her, he was nervous for her safety. He had learnt not to smother her with his overprotective tendencies, but he couldn't help his mind wandering to imagining terrible situations happening to her on the pitch. He could only hope that Jozua wouldn't be too hard on her or aim too well, for her sake at least. Of course, he also didn't want her to catch the Snitch, but that bit he left up to Eden.

Once the match began, Ingrid was quick to get the Quaffle and pass it on to her team-mates. Jack cursed and followed behind, eyes locked onto the path of the Quaffle. He momentarily ignored his other team-mates, looking for a way to intercept it - the Quaffle was much too close to the hoops now and Jack felt the minor panic and determination to do something about it rise in him. He half-expected Fitzgerald to throw it into the hoops, but, knowing his own feinting tactics, Jack followed the nearest Pecalus Chaser just in case. If Parker did throw it to the hoops, Jack would have no chance at intercepting it. However...

Before he could finish the thought, Jack found his opportunity and swooped in, accidentally knocking into the other red and brown-robed Chaser with one arm as he was hit with the Quaffle on the other. That would smart later, but at least he had the Quaffle securely in hand. The bludger Joe had, Jack assumed, meant for the Pecalus Chasers, nearly grazed him in the bedlam; his heart leapt into his throat and he could feel his hair standing on end at the close call.

Jack turned the Quaffle around and headed straight out of the confusion to the other end of the pitch. His eyes darted around for either Amelia or Louis, and when he spotted one of them, he dropped suddenly down and up again, hoping to shake the opposition at least for a second, and threw the Quaffle hard at his team-mate.
