FnF Quidditch - Rules (OOC)
Fri May 17, 2019 22:18

Welcome to Fast and Furious Quidditch. This is a new format, so we hope people will pitch in (hoho), try it out, and help us work out what works and what doesn’t. As per all FnF posts, there is no word count, and as per all Quidditch matches, there is no set posting order.

We’re trialing the following guidelines to make sure the match stays accessible and realistic, i.e. to prevent two characters dominating the whole game if their authors happen to be on together:
Maximum of ten exchanges between a single pair of characters in one go
Maximum of two passes of the Quaffle between the same two players in one sequence (e.g. Parker passes to Ness who passes back to Parker - wait for someone else)
If the match is getting very busy, it is requested that authors log into chatzy in order to claim a turn, in order to avoid multiple double (or more) posts occurring. A claimed turn must be completed at that time, and not saved for later

I am hoping that, without the pressure of ‘one long post’ we can get some collaboration and manoeuvres going, so authors are absolutely encouraged to use statements such as
‘They had been practising the Hawkshead formation in training and Winston flew in to support his team mate’

A list of move can be found here

Usual Qudiditch rules apply though scoring will be done differently
Please use the following html tag in your author name by removing the spaces < font color="orange" > (or "green"), and close the tag after it < / font >

The team line ups are:
Team A - Orange

Team B - Green

Coach Kinsell worked his way through the players, tapping each to colour change their robes to either orange or green. Today’s training session was a mock-match. It was a bright clear day, not too... more
      • Let's get things started!Ness McCleod, Chaser, Sat May 18 00:24
Ness was not a fan of elbows to the face. Or to the back. Or to really any part of the body. Even elbows to other elbows were jarring and painful. Thus, when the whistle blew, the second year pulled... more

Turning tail it was then. Ness shot off towards the main action. Not having to disentangle from a scrum was a solid advantage there. The second year wasn't going to catch Heinrich before he passed,... more

Lily was excited to finally have the coveted title of 'captain' before her name, and she expressed her enthusiasm during every practice. She took the position seriously, however, and her pre-match... more

In theory, with his cousin and his brother now parts of the Quidditch team, Nathaniel thought Quidditch should have been a magnificent vehicle for family bonding. In practice, however, it was not;... more

Winston grimaced a bit when he saw Coach Kinsell turn his robe the same green as The Aladren’s, but being the first string Seeker this year, he was fortunately not going to have to deal with that... more
