Why don't we try happy?

Dustin was pretty sure Laila was giggling somewhat at his expense, but for right now, he didn’t really mind. It was just nice that she was laughing, however slight, and hopefully starting to feel better. He knew her happiness wasn’t really his concern--he wasn’t sure he’d call her a friend, if he’d dare to--but it felt kind of nice to help.

“Nowhere in particular,” he answered, letting the previous topic drop since she said she didn’t want to talk about it but now knew certainly that she could. “Just walking around. You can walk with me, if you want to. I promise not to walk into you again.” Dustin wore a small smile which crooked slightly to one side. Despite a slight ache from the impact a few moments ago, he found himself to be in a much better mood.
