At $700 apiece, I'd expect the Yammies to be miles ahead of the ZLX12P. I don't remember if they were in my consideration when I was shopping for an FRFR speaker; they might have been out of the price range. In any event, I listened to every cab in the Guitar Center lineup (in the price range) and decided that the EV was the best sound in the range (Mackie Thump was the worst to my ear)...

...and then I got it for a hundred bucks cheaper than GC through Pro Audio Star. So for roughly $50 more than a Behringer cab, I got a lot more flexibility an a nicer sound in the EV.

To be fair, I've not used them as full PA tops. As I said, my use has been mostly as a floor FRFR monitor, which worked GREAT. The first time I tried a Behringer XR18 mixer, I accidentally forgot to unmute the other monitor channels. The entire stage was being monitored by the ZLX12P and it was loud enough that we only noticed between bands because I noticed the monitor mix not reflecting the changes I was trying to make.

The city uses about six of them for public address for the annual Halloween Parade.

I haven't had experience with the newer Behringer stuff (other than listening to recorded music in GC), but every band I've heard using Behringer speakers seems to be running the Behrs to their absolute limit - pumping, some high frequency distortion. Glad to see that they're stepping up their quality. I had been looking into the Turbosound stuff, but couldn't find one to listen to.

I think the powered speakers come with 3' IEC power cables. I purchased several 6' & 10' IEC power cables so the extension cord connection isn't halfway up the pole/stand. So a floor power strip... more

I need some of the longer IEC cables. Thus far, I have used some black extension cords that I gaff tape to the IEC and it works, and doesn't took "bad" but doesn't look as nice as I want. I just... more
