A confused snowflake

I used to think I was just a regular gal, but . . . I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, necessitates that I recognize other struggles beyond my picket fence.

I am a fiscal conservative, which by today's standards means I am still broke even when I work two jobs while being told how great things are going.

I am heterosexual, which is perfectly fine with my gay, trans, bi and un-labelled friends and associates.

I am non-union in some cases. But I also see where unions helped with many working conditions at a time when that was necessary. And considering the de-regulation drive for safety, pay, overtime, hire/fire liberties, it may well be that workers still need them.

I am a Witch, which means Evangelicals want to fry me (um where's the love).

I am younger than 70, which makes me determined to protect my future (especially health benefits and social security because I paid into both my ENTIRE WORKING LIFE)

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the administration repeats like a mantra (particularly when studied in detail and properly researched), which must make me a traitor.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive culture, which makes me NORMAL (the melting pot usually makes good stew).

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, but do not approve of holes in the law that let people own weapons meant for war without proper background checks, training, etc. There are guns for collecting, guns for hunting and guns for killing. In any other than the hands of a soldier I object to the last.

I believe in hard work, fair play, & fair compensation according to each individual's merits. I also believe in helping deserving people get a leg up (like disabled and homeless vets).

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens (that includes legal aliens, Peurto Rico and oh yes.. water for FLINT).

I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in our government. It is obvious why it happened.

I have been called a snowflake while watching people on the right melt over a black man kneeling vs. a white guy on a killing spree. Pssst - a bunch of "snowflakes" is called a blizzard.

Funny...
it's all just taken place over the last 2 years.

And, as if all this crap wasn't enough to deal with, I'm now afraid to speak to any of our paid representatives and expect an honest answer.
