Shiloh (Orion thru Juno)
Re: No Subject
Sat Sep 8, 2018 6:33pm

Orion moved to set his box down as well and nodded, looking around at the priestesses gathered. “They’ve assigned you all Guards, I assume…“ he said, not just the ones on perimeter watch, but one to each priestess. Of course, Delilah wasn’t going to have it any other way after what happened to Donovan. She’d ensure the girls were as safe as possible, especially attending to the lanterns an the outskirt walkways of the village. They’d enhanced their Guard force since Donovan took over, even if they hadn’t been trained as warriors to the magnitude that a race such as the Goldens were. But it’d be enough to protect and defend.

Twilight didn’t know the name to put to what Dimael was, until Zanna uttered it quietly to herself, louder than she probably thought she had. Twilight‘s look of confusion didn‘t lessen much when Dimael explained he had taken her from Aeon as it fell, had left her in Unkindness and felt comfortable doing do when Samson found her outside his door and took her into his arms with the immediate love of a father for the orphaned infant. That part… she’d heard form her father, from Samson. He’d told her about when he found her there, a bundle smaller than a pure raven baby, but alone, and how from the moment he picked her up he knew she was his daughter. But who had left her… swaddled in the blanket bearing two white pines… was always a mystery. Until now, it seemed. She studied him as he expressed regret and sadness as well for having to leave her without him there to guide her in all of this, but shook her head. “It didn’t matter until now,“ she said quietly, essentially assuring him she’d had a happy life with her family… save for the little issues with Zanna apparently, but Dimael’s absence from it really only became apparent when her gift made itself known in the most abrupt of ways.

When Twilight refused to use Phere as a tool or weapon after the war, to even work with her, it seemed the Shisha’s initial programming and aggression faded to leave her almost a clean amnesiac slate that Dimael had found her, open for ‘reprogramming’ and Twilight had been unwittingly doing so by treating her as a friend than a weapon. Twilight didn’t know how to be an Oracle, and that was where Dimael’s absence was most felt.

Eros bit his tongue, though the desire to ask Dimael when exactly he had returned to watch over Twilght, how long he’d been in Unkindness without any of their knowledge, was likely rather powerful in all of them.

Liora giggled and let out a happy little sound at Lukken’s thoughts. If mommy and daddy both can do it, then one day maybe we can too! she sent back excitedly, though… were she to actually experience it, she had no idea if she’d be scared or thrilled by it. But, like Acer said, they were still far too young and small for that just yet. They were just getting enough stiffness and strength in their wings to flap them a bit, but not enough to really support their little bodies. She looked up at her daddy as he talked to Sasha, her tiny ears dancing at the sound of his voice.

Koi listened and nodded a bit before she smiled at Rodrick’s remark about Rachel having slapped a few feathers off of the prince. She laughed and looked at Rachel in surprise, though she shouldn’t be. “So then… when all of that happened, did you two already know each other or… did you meet after?“ she asked curiously, looking between Rachel and her husband.

“Oh, does it?“ Vera asked with a playful lilt when she saw him wink after saying it sounded fun. She glanced down and up at him again. “We should get back…“ she said… gesturing to the pocket he had the small radio tubes in. Not that she wanted to interrupt the moment, but… they were in a rather public spot… and she was shy enough when it was just her and Rio. He wasn’t the only one who took a chance with trust… Seemed they had a lot in common. But while his was a general caution to trust, her’s was more specific these days to anything intimate, like a relationship… but Rio felt like someone she could trust… and already she did trust him, even if she had doubts in herself at times.

Saffy looked at Duncan curiously and then back to the other couple as Lana mumbled about them getting here ‘sooner than they wanted.‘ “You were looking for us?“ she asked curiously, looking around again and then back to them.

“Well, for Duncan, specifically,“ Garand said, looking to the Puma-Bear. “We need you to let us into the Archives and show us where you found the summoning spell that brought that thing here,“ he said, trying to be quiet and not actually verbalize there was a shadow creature in the castle… no need for anyone in the gardens to overhear and with how skittish people were about the Abyss… anything shadowy would set off a panic. “We’re trying to figure out how to free it. Since you brought it here, it’s been trapped and I have a feeling it wouldn’t be a bad thing to have a neutral party out there where we can’t go,“ he noted.

Saffy went through a series of feelings as Garand spoke. First concern over the fact they were being confronted about summoning the shadow being, then the fact they didn’t seem upset about it, but rather wanted to help it… It was confusing, but at least they weren’t in trouble. Or, mostly Duncan… since he was responsible for everything in the Archives and for them being used the proper way. At least Garand found out about it instead of Traitorin…

Nascha smiled back to Mela and then glanced at Sally when Mela said she hoped such stories wouldn’t bore the dove. “I have a feeling, since neither of us ever had that ourselves, even those things would be anything but boring, Mela,“ she assured her with a giggle.

“Serg, you know me… I’m not really the giving up sort,“ Blake said, “I just meant… maybe you’re right that I shouldn’t push it so much on day one. As long as something sinks in for him today and he takes it home with him and Helios is unable to reverse whatever new thoughts we manage to put into his head… it’s a win for the day,“ he said, nodding to his friend as the boy happily seemed to strut around and eat.

“Uh oh… what does it say?“ Sandy asked. “You’re not smiling so much anymore…“ She craned her neck a bit, her ears tipping forwards on her head and widening as though she could hear what was in the note. “Isn’t it congratulations?“ she asked.

Senn listened and then smiled a bit, shaking his head some. “Torin, don’t you get it? You’re the reason she gets to have a family now. If you hadn’t come into her life… she would still be whoever he wanted her to be, and she might not be here if she had,“ he noted. “I think you kinda broke his spell when she fell in love with you,“ he said. “Doesn’t change what she’s been through, I know, but… she has a good life ahead… with family and love in it. We just have to keep the past where it is, keep him where he is… for all of them,” he said, looking back to the girls, but also imagining it wouldn’t be great for Traitorin either were his father to return. Granted, evil as he was, he wasn’t out to destroy the world like Raiser is.

Soraya looked at Abbadon in disbelief. “Abbadon,“ she said in a sharp whisper. She glanced back to Safira. “Sorry, it’s just… Unkindness doesn’t strike us as a particularly tech-heavy village… and truth is, a much more suitable and functional prosthetic could be provided for you back home in Aer’Oro,“ she admitted. They were a warrior race, and so such severe injuries did occur -- loss of wings, limbs, eyes… and they’d been finding ways to compensate for those losses and return to a state of normalcy since the beginning, and their methods had progressed with each generation.

“I’m sure you’ll enjoy it… if you relax, trust your friend, and just let yourself be open to it,“ Amara assured the nervous tigress as she led them to the door so they could be on their way and she could get to work on their dresses.

Juno looked at Yuuri curiously when she suggested there was a way… a way to remember what there was in between, when it was almost like she was sleeping… when something important had been said to her that she couldn’t remember by someone she couldn’t recall… but… “But it wasn’t a dream, Yuuri… it was between life and death,“ she said, though many would say that the dream realm and the place in between were very close to each other, which was why those who were no longer of this realm could visit and speak to those left behind in their dreams. “I… would try, though,“ she agreed quietly, unaware Torin was also coming up with ideas with Senn to protect both girls from their father’s intrusions into their dreams… by way of dream catchers.
