Creasey sounds like the Dash when eating.....

Dasher will take some bites, walk away, sometimes leaving a trail of food.....then go back for more. I'm just glad he is eating slowly...
Dasher. as a pup, gobbled up his food, so glad he no longer does this.
Mind you, Dasher is 83 lbs and one of the tallest, if not tallest McDoodle. He is tall and lanky.
Teddy is a mere 4 lbs lighter, but much much shorter (one of the few McDoodles to inherit a golden body) He eats, head down, until finished.
So glad you brought up this subject. We discussed this probably at least 4 yrs ago, and it was long overdue for new discussion.
We have never used raised feeders with any of our dogs (these are our 3rd and 4th)

        I'm not sure, maybe Kelli will answer. My Creasey usually is always running and playing in the yard, sometimes right after he eats.

          Interesting thought...it is time for her walk, she just ate and is resting on the tile. I guess I let her rest, then go. Thanks!

      Violet eats better when I place the food directly oN her eating mat. I'm very happy that I don't have to think any further

          We had raised feeders until the Purdue study came out. Now they are on the Lanai with water only in them. :) I would feed them on the ground.

        Creasey doesn't eat very fast anymore (not like when he was real young), but at times I see him take a few bites, and he'll walk away from his bowl and it seems he's having a tough time... more

        Wow, this is extremely helpful. I would have totally though the raised bowls would have been better...boy was I wrong. Thank you Kelli :)

        Unfortunately, Teddy has raised bowls because at the time I thought it was better for him. I think it helps with bloat for the bigger dogs and eating faster when it is raised if I am correct. I think ... more
