Our golden was notorious for finding the stuff. The good news, clean up will remove the smell. Our first golden, immediately upon walking out our back door ran into a skunk....Slider was still open. Back then, we had grass cloth wallpaper. Besides the dog stinking, the wallpaper absorbed much of the spray....and this was my kitchen. Long story short, we suffered for weeks....and had to remove the wallpaper.... And, tomato juice did little for the dog. This was probably 25 yrs ago.....Oh the things you remember with your pets....
