Thank you, Crystal, for your warm hugs, understanding, and ideas. I must admit I have wrestled with the idea of finding a home for Daisy. I guess I'm not there yet, but I agree that she would be happier. She is a sweet dog and, of course, I've known her for years and love her. However, if I could find that home where I felt certain she would be happy (and I could check in on her), I might could do it. Who on earth, however, wants a 10 year old bossy mixed breed for their only pet? She is so cute sometimes, though. Today, I took Maggie for her daily ride in the van and when we returned, Daisy had dug out of the cottage yard and met us with the happiest, proudest face...jumping and laughing as if to say "I've been trying for months and I finally did it! Aren't you proud of me?" And, I must admit, I was happy for her. Now I have to go fill a hole three feet deep!
You are an Angel for bringing him and his family to be with you guys! I'm sure you made some forever memories during that time for sure.. It's a very noble thing what you are trying to do with Daisy, ... more
