Free dog food???
Thu Aug 9, 2012 12:41am

Apparently all you have to do to get free dog food is grow some fruit trees in your yard :) Our house here in Seattle has 2 plum trees and 2 apple trees in back. The plum trees have just finished their growing season. One day I picked a juicy, ripe plum to bring into the house. I started walking towards the front with Java, she put her face right into my hand and ate the plum right out of it before I had a chance to realize what she intended to do! LOL... since then I'd walk outside and see Java or Perl with plum juice dripping down their faces. We haven't picked up ONE plum out of our yard, even with 2 plum trees. Who would've guessed?

Our apples aren't ripe yet and none of them are falling, but a few trees in our neighborhood are dropping apples and Perl runs RIGHT over and grabs them as quick as she can. Cracks me up! I'd never seen a dog that was so crazy about fruit before! At least I don't have to worry about vitamin deficiencies :) Does anyone else have a fruit-loving doodle? I'm not sure I ever would've known they liked fruit if they weren't eating them out of our yard!
