      Between rattlers, coral snakes, gators, and bears, who needs it? Although what is crazy is that a few weeks ago one of my agility friends up here was bitten by a copperhead.

        Yes, we live with lots of creatures....but most often you don't see the scary ones. I really hated to kill the snake....but too risky with the dogs.... The coral snake is really a beautiful snake.

          She didn't even see it happen so treatment was delayed for hours as hospital didnt think it was a snake bite. Her hand was ugly!

      When we lived at Ft. Benning, we had our share of reptile sightings in the yard. And they always seemed to occur more frequently when the hubby was away. Glad everything worked out well and the boys... more

      I had a hairy spider crawl out of my garbage disposal last week and almost packed my bags....snakes? Ugh! Maybe you should take some snake whisperer lessons?

        • They say down here, they gather the stuff but don't really hibernate.... Your chances of bear encounters are much higher than ours..... Although, they do show up...poor guys/gals have no more... more

      balls around the outside of your lanai if it were me, and also maybe a few in the planters, they stink so the boys won't go near them, at least mine don't ;-) So glad you guys caught and killed it!... more

        I HATE snakes and have been using moth balls for years around the outside pool area. A gentleman I ran into at Publix said he uses a product sold at ACE hardware stores to keeps snakes away. It's... more
