Tachikawa: Camp Fuchinobe: Midnight Shadow Yoko Leo
Wed Sep 20, 2017 8:01pm

We were stationed at Tachikawa AB from 1959-1962. We first lived in a little compound of houses out in the country, until moving to a new house at the American Village housing unit, built next to Tachikawa. We rode a bus for about an hour to take horseback riding lessons. Based on your posts, it might have been Camp Fuchinobe. If so, do you remember the horses Yoko and Leo? Or Sgt. Pickle, a riding instructor there, allegedly once on a US Army equestrian team for the Olympics?. At the end-of-season horse show, we watched him jump 5 rail fences on the dapple gray, Shadow. I have a photo of him doing so. If it is indeed Camp Fuchinobe, I also have a photo of me on--possibly--Midnight.
