Houston floods
Sun Aug 27, 2017 4:01pm

Have lived in Houston over 40 years - this is unbelievable. Major hospital evacuating due to flooding and power outages. We are safe right now but don't know what the next few days will bring. The creek behind our house has become a major river.
To make things worse we had to send our 13 year old labradoodle Brie to the bridge yesterday. She was my first doodle and it is hard to stop the tears. She was such a sweet dog - I miss her.
With all that is happening I am sort of numb.
I just hope that the path of this storm takes a more northerly path. That will decrease the rain amounts. We have had over 24 inches so far.

Watching images on MSNBC now. Truly a horrendous natural disaster. Thoughts are with the victims and with the brave, competent rescue workers and first-responders.
