I have Pet Plan for Ozzie
Fri Sep 29, 2017 11:52pm

He is 13 years old. Our premium is $1400/year with 70% coverage and $700 deductible. Ozzie has had several procedures, including dental surgery and "bump" removal, which were over $1000. I figure 2 of these incidents would just about put us even. I thought about it alot and almost didn't renew but in the end I did. I think at this point, his expenses are likely to be high if he is so unfortunate to need any procedures. It was painful but I chose to renew. I don't think I could ever recommend PetPlan. There are others out there now like Embrace and Trupanion that appear to offer more reasonable coverage. I was especially disappointed in PetPlan because we have been customers for all of Ozzie's life, with only one or two claims.

We never got insurance on our sweet Bear. He didn't need it until he was about 11. If we had paid $700 per year for insurance, by the time he needed care, we would have broken even. He was in... more
