Hello to all my pals on the Zoo. As a special birthday present to me, Momsy has allowed me to take over her computer for a bit so that I can share what I've been up to during the last year.

For those of you who don't know me very well, my 'official' name is Rutland's Shalom and I am an Australian Cobberdog. I flew over from Melbourne, Australian when I was twelve weeks old, and met my Momsy and Popsy for the first time at the airport in Los Angeles.

I don't get a chance to kick Momsy off her computer very often, so I've collected a whole bunch of pictures so's you can see what I've been up to. Gotta warn you - it's been a busy year.

I started my year by inviting my good friend, Teshi, over for a special birthday romp. She's a few years older than me, but she's still a good playmate and has been helping me to learn my manners.

The next big event was New Year's Day, which I celebrated by chewing a beef back-rib bone. It didn't take me long to strip off all the meat.

Sometimes, I'm so happy that I want to rub noses with someone. Momsy is usually happy to oblige, although she doesn't like it if my nose gets inside her mouth. What's up with that?

In the springtime, I like to go outside and inspect Momsy's rose garden

Sometimes, I patrol the front yard, and watch for possible intruders

In July, Popsy and Momsy took me to a place called 'Napa', where we drove around a lot, and stopped at places they called 'wineries'. I didn't hear any whines, so I don't know what that was about. We stayed in a really nice place with our own little garden.

The most exciting part of the year was in September and October. Popsy and Momsy took me on a long, long car drive. It was so long that we had to stop every night in a different place for almost a whole week.

Our first real stop was in a place called Ottawa. Here we are on Parliament Hill, where they rang some very loud bells to welcome us.

After Ottawa, we went to Montreal and I got to play with the biggest, bestest stick I've ever seen in my whole two years.

The funnest stop for me was Mississauga (that's just west of Toronto), where my Auntie Barbara lives. She and my Uncle Harvey have a house with a big back yard, and I could run forever.

I got to meet my cousin Wendel, who lives with Auntie Barb's daughter & son-in-law. Wendel is a cockapoo, who was about 10 months old when I met him.

Here I am chasing Wendel in the back yard. He's fast!

All that playtime tired me out, so I took a break with Popsy for a few minutes

After we finally got home, life returned to normal and I mellowed out with my favorite treat - a big, meaty bone.

For my birthday today, Popsy and Momsy gave me a new toy - A special Frisbee that I can chew, and catch. It even floats.

Finally, this is my 'official' birthday picture - the only one I stood still for long enough that I wasn't just a blur.

Well, that's all for now, 'cause Momsy wants her computer back.

Wags 'n' slurps,
Shalom
