Kit and Maggie
Poor Miss Maggie
Sat Dec 30, 2017 4:54pm

We've had about three inches of soft, powdery snow - her absolute favorite kind for rompeting in, but poor Miss Mag is stuck inside. She hurt her leg the other night during the evening bark and deer chase. She can't sit comfortably, and is laying down a different way than usual. Plus, she growls if you get too close to her left hip, where generally she loves having her hips/butt scratched.
I called the vet and she's going in on Tuesday when they get back, but till then, it's lay around either in a room or crated, short leash walks only, and plenty of boredom. This is not making our Miss Mag a happy doodle. She may be eight, but she's plenty peppy, still. I gave her a bone to chew today and that helped some for a while. She thought it would be interesting to chew on my boots but I nixed that.
Anyone have suggestions for keeping a crate-resting doodle happy?

just crating her and leash walking is about your best options. I know mine if hurting are more content to lounge. Hugs and Good Luck! Happy New Year!

to lessen the discomfort? I can't imagine having to keep Rowley contained & not active. He's still a rambunctious 5yo. This summer he was stung numerous times, so the vet recommended Benadryl. That... more
