Dear Friends, This is hard to write, and even harder to do. The night before last, Maggie attacked DH for the fourth time, this time quite aggressively and it's a miracle he wasn't hurt. It was terrifying to see. She awoke from a sound sleep and just went for him -had him pinned on the couch and was going for his throat. It's a known issue, sleep aggressiveness, but it was the final straw for us. She is going back to the foster home she came from. It's a better solution than any other because her foster mom loves her as much as we do, and knows how to deal with her better than we can. Her baggage was just more than we could deal with. We are very sad, and I think it may be a little while before we are ready for another dog. She's been with us now for 3 1/2 years and we'll miss her beautiful, charming, smart side, while at the same time feeling it's for the best to part from her because of the unpredictable, aggressive side that appears when you least expect it. It's very upsetting to have to make this decision, though. I hope none of you have to do it.
