Oh MY! Very scary.

Bear was attacked by a neighbor's German Shepherd 4 or 5 years ago. He pulled himself loose from his owner's hands, and came running with his leash trailing him. The bites were so deep that there were 2 layers (inner and outer) of stitches to close the wounds.

We were fortunate that we had a good neighbor who took care of the medical bills, and brought Bear a bunch of toys and treats to use during his recovery. Bear recovered. I just came across some old photos of Bear wearing his tee shirt so he would leave the wound alone while it healed.

That dog still lives there, and now barks at our Max. When he was a puppy, we introduced Max to the GS, and they sniffed each other. But now I would not want them nearby. Sweet little Max is now 25 pounds, and nowhere near the size of the other dog.
