Melissa, Roo, and Ellie
So, I walked into the kitchen to find DH and Ellie deep

in conversation. I kind of hung back a bit until I could figure out the gist of what was going on and then I had to intervene. DH was explaining to Ellie how to get ice out of the ice maker! What the what?!?!? He had treats out and tells me he's teaching Ellie a new trick. think it's a good idea to teach her how to access the ice maker and potentially water from the fridge as well?! Tell me THAT wouldn't be big fun for a doodle girl! She already knows how to put her paw on the pedal of the trash cans to remove whatever interests her. DH looked a tiny bit deflated, but immediately agreed it wasn't one of his better plans. Thank heavens I came in and thwarted the plan. Can you imagine my concern if I entered the kitchen and repeatedly found ice cubes on the floor not knowing how they got there?! Little Miss loves ice cubes and probably would have learned that new trick quickly since the payoff would be so satisfying.

I just had to share. It made me laugh to picture Ellie getting her own ice cubes and water from the door dispensers. I told him to teach her something useful like picking her own toys up from the yard!

just that! These doodles are so smart, she would definitely learned how to do that!

to come if Ellie learned how to activate the ice cube dispenser! She looked so stinkin' cute sitting like a little lady watching her dad demonstrate where ice cubes come from.
    • That is a hoot! (nm)Kit and Max, Tue Apr 10 3:36pm
    • Good idea! We have several low tech rocker switchesMelissa, Roo, and Ellie, Tue Apr 10 3:48am
or the big jelly bean button that can be programmed with a simple request or verbal reinforcement. We could teach Ellie to "talk" using Seth's old communication devices! I like it!
    • LMAO!SD&B, Tue Apr 10 2:05am
That would be quite delightful from here, lol. But maybe not from there. At least DH is interested in training. Maybe he can teach her to push a button that talks?
