in this world that is bigger or means more than an honest'I Love You'. The part of your post in answer to mine that ran my eyes full of tears was your statement..."My own mother never told me she loved me". To me that is heartbreaking. To this day, each time I speak to my kids (both in their 40's) I always end my conversations and visits with those important words...I Love You. Nothing could be more truthful. Sometimes I have to smile as it doesn't matter how old they are now. My occasional conversation goes something like this: "That's a great sweater. And that is a good color on you. Turn around let me see. Very nice...I love you) LOL. I can't help myself. Vera, You have known Love. It matters not the direction from which it came. It still came to you with open arms. Perhaps this one was better because the love your American Mum gave you was given freely not because she might have had to say it, but didn't. Vera, you are my one German friend. I Love You.
