You may have seen them - they are often at UT games and other sports events - on show. They are known for their high spirited gait. they are not racing horses.
But that gait comes at a price - a terrible price to the horses.
This industry has been investigated before at a local level, but now the HSUS has done a major bust, including busting the most well known trainer.
Recently a $10k award was given to someone for busting the abusers (takes a lot of proof and you got to get thru the trial part and get the abusers convicted - tough to do).
Despite what you think of the HSUS (and many don't like them, I know), but only they had they manpower and money to do this investigation and make this bust.) Hopefully, the future will be better for these beautiful horses.
