We went to an Animal Dermatologist and Hudson had a skin test where they shave a part of his side and prick him with needles that have allergens on them and test his response on a scale of 1-4 (he was lightly sedated),he also had blood work done. It was not that expensive - a few hundred dollars and the shots were reasonable too. The Dr. said the shots will take up to nine months to start working, fyi, but just finding out about the yeast imbalance made it all worth it. We live in Los Angeles.
