DNV Volunteer Events Aug 18 & 25
Wed Aug 15, 2018 16:42

From DNV:
Saturday August 18th: Maplewood Creek Park
We will be doing some invasive plant maintenance in the park in order to fight back against invasive blackberry, ivy, and other unwanted pests. This is all to help promote native species regeneration in the park to support more planting projects through the fall once the rains return.

We will be meeting at the park entrance near the corner of Mount Seymour Parkway and Riverside Drive at 10 am. Please use parking at Seymour Heritage Park, and cross under the bridge, or park along riverside drive after you take the Grantham detour.

Please bring water, work suitable clothing, and sunscreen. You own work gloves would be great too, but we have extras in case. We’ll supply everything else.

Saturday August 25th: Harbourview Park
The restoration in Harbourview Park is well under way and we are looking to support the work done by previous volunteers and District staff by continuing to pull out invasive species, and carrying out some maintenance on the plants we’ve recently installed. As with above, this is all to help support future volunteer efforts and plantings in the park which we will be carrying on into the fall.

Come see the ducks and meet us at the main park entrance to Harbourview Park at 10 am, where there is easy parking and access.

Please bring water, work suitable clothing, and sunscreen. You own work gloves would be great too, but we have extras in case. We’ll supply everything else.

Thanks and can’t wait to see you out there.
