Potty help
Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:03

We are using our crate to train our puppy.
Basically, if she makes potty outside, than she gets free time inside. Start with short intervals of free time, than return her to the crate for the remainder of the hour, making certain to take her out at least every hour. If she is successful, increase her free time out of the crate, repeating this. The crate will teach her to hold her potty for longer intervals. I've also read that catching her in the act is important. You can say a firm " NO" and take her immediately outside, praise her if she finishes her potty outside.

Goog Luck!
