Over the last month we had a lot of interrupted sleep at night, with Rufus barking twice during the night. I didn't hear it, am a very sound sleeper, besides he was downstairs. He used to go in his crate around 8:30-9:00 at night and wanted to be tucked in. Well he stretched that out further and further. At first we thought he barked because he had to go out, but I told DH not to start a new habit with him, he learns (teaches us new tricks I should say)quick. Then DH or I would go and spend the night on the couch to see if it was the Coyotes, that were waking him up. We started to play a radio for him at night. I know the stuff we do for our doods. LOL Well, after one to many sleepless nights we said, lets just let him sleep on the couch and see what happens. So we put up the gate to block him in the family room.......
BINGO he wanted a couch to sleep on, fine with me and DH because now we get a good nights sleep again. LOL All this after 7 years of routine. What brought that on? I swear he thinks too much.
He still goes in his crate when we go out, but even there he is getting smarter. All DH has to say *you need to get ready* or he sees DH in his glow in the dark in black-light T shirt, (it is the brightest Yellow you have ever seen) and he goes in his crate on his own. ROFL

Ozzie also has funny sleeping habits. Sometimes he will sleep in the bed with me, soundlessly, all night. Then other nights he does a circuit of bed, floor, his bed, floor by the closet, back in the... more
He is lucky he is so cute, so it is hard to be mad at him. LOL Has Ozzie always slept with you? Rufus was very attached to his crate for sleeping at night for 7 years, I wonder what changed?
and things went downhill from there. He was good in his crate, no problems. So I left the door open for him at night. One night he jumped up in my bed and that was it...his new sleeping place. Now he ... more
