The NEX 5 lets you get just quick snaps, point and shoot

What do you think I do, when I need to get a picture, like of the little bird and there is no time to mess with the settings? I turn it on, point and shoot. LOL I would say go to the store play with both and then make a decision. I am just afraid that you will miss out on the action shots of Ozzie with a plain point and shoot. The sensor will take to long to write to the SD card and you would miss the next shot. Give it some more thought, make sure, they both cost about the same, except if you feel like adding on later down the road, you are stuck with the point and shoot, but you could with the NEX5. Trust me, once you get great pictures, you will be taking a lot more pictures, a LOT more.
