Attempting to avoid....

It had taken Pamela a while to find the courage to step across the age line leading to Pearl Street Mall. It was hard enough to keep her secret inside the school, but she really needed to breath fresh air. She didn't like the Quidditch Pitch, which had too many students and the forest was daunting and Pam was already scared of the forest surrounding her home. Well make that her old home. Her mum and new family had visited during midterm, she could remember vividly her mother introducing her new husband, charming Oliver Damon and his beautiful little girl Lucy. Except Oliver wasn't charming. He looked exactly like a vampire with sleeked back black hair, tall menacing stature, paper white skin and thin claw-like fingers. He was evil and Pam knew it. He apparently came from a very wealthy and pureblooded family, though Pam knew he didn't like her. Most likely because of the way the thin girl dressed in dark clothes for fat men and having a werewolf in the family could send his powerful reputation burning to the ground.

Lucy on the other hand, was a very beautiful little girl with perfectly straight blonde hair, hot chocolate eyes and thin body. Though the moment she spoke in her bittersweet tone Pam knew she was a spoilt girl. And her suspicions were right. Lucy was the outcome of mixing poison and honey together. She wouldn't do anything for herself, though she played charming and girly, occasionally snapping at the house elves. When she looked at Pam, though being when two feet smaller than the third year made herself seemed taller than the girl.

Pam barely had time to talk to her other siblings alone, having only a few minutes to talk to her younger sister, Linden in the toilet. Linden shared her views on the new members of the family, filling her in quickly on the new house, well mansion now. Everything sounded horrible to Pam and to top it all off the last copy of the newest translation of Les Miserablés had been sold at the local bookshop. As soon as she arrived at Pearl Street Pam made a bee line for the bookshop, searching through the classics muttering Victor Hugo's name. Alas, they didn't have it either and Pam was making her way out, thinking of buying a sandwich from the bakery, when her path was blocked by Charline Adler. Of course Pamela knew who she was, they were in the same year and had classes together but Pam never talked to Charline. She didn't really want to as Charline scared her a little.

Pam stood there, eyes bright like a deer in headlights at the girl. The transfer clutched the inside of her large hoodie, which had been made for a obese man, and shuffled around uncomfortably. She felt a little guilty and being surprised that Charline actually apologised and all the girl could do was nod. Pam was horrible at talking to people anyway but Charline made her nervous though she didn't look like she was trying to intimidating. The werewolf imagined the ground cracking and swallowing her into a pit of steaming lava, which sounded much better than holding a conversation.

"It's okay," Pam mumbled under her breath barely hearing her voice herself, not daring to make eye contact.
