Oh! Right, er, thanks...

In fairy tales she read to Linden, the prince would always kiss the girl's hand. When Linden asked why he did it, Pam would explain it was another way of greeting, just like shaking hands. Then when Linden kissed Mum's hand when she came home from work, Pam quickly explained to her that it was usually done with boys and girls, girls at the receiving end. It wasn't soon Linden grew out of fairy tale books and would ask for stories with more adventure and mystery and mermaids and talking animals and stars and pirates and food and "less sleep for merlin's sakes!" which would end up with Pam telling her stories straight from her head, using bits and pieces from their day. One day Pam told Linden the story of Linda the amazing tightrope walker who ran away from the circus and made a perilous journey across the country (bumping into talking animals and mermaids on the way, of course) and eventually became rich and all of her circus friends came to live with her in her big house. Though Linden would never have the handsome prince come in at the end, no she never liked the charming princes. Looking at the boy now that was what Pam was reminded of.

Killian Walker, the boy introduced himself as, Killian Walker .

Pam glanced up quickly to him, the name sounded harsh at the beginning though it flowed quickly from there. The tip of a waterfall followed by the quiet plunge pool. Pam didn't realise Killian was offering a place though Pam felt guilty knowing he probably had less of an idea of the street than Pamela.

Something caught Pam's hand and she looked up to find herself looking into the eyes of Killian. MerlinMerlinMerlinMerlinMerlinMerlinMerlin. Pam sucked in a short breath as his lips grazed her knuckles, foolishly aware of the heat burned her dark cheeks. Sky eyes wide with awe and curiosity as a new velvety voice came from the boy, the air seeming rather thinner than before, vision less clear as Pam listened to the hushed tone.

"Pamela, was it?"

The girl nodded, keeping herself steady. This was hardly an appropriate time for collapsing.

ďShe can eat a person alive canít she? Iíll just have to stick with you. You keep her from eating me and Iíll keep her from eating you, deal?Ē

"Deal," Pam breathed as he dropped her hand, the ghost of his fingers tingling on her skin. Pamela glanced at Charline, desperately hoping she hadn't heard. The Draco tried to avoid meeting Charline's piercing blue eyes, knowing it they did Charline might attempt to bore Pam's eyes out with her own. No, she kept her eyes on the ground. In ways Charline reminded her of Lucy, but Charline was more ice then poison. A sharp and cold Ice Queen.

" looks nice," Pam mumbled a decibel louder than her previous responses, slightly more confident now she knew she had an alliance with Killian. Without wanting to waste anymore time Pam made a quick escape outside and towards the building Killian had suggested.
