“Fancy meeting you here.”

Emily resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Of course she had to bump into him . Her last encounter with the blond boy had been less than pleasant as he had tried to attack her with a Bludger… twice. At least he didn’t have a ponytail today; it made him seem slightly less obnoxious. But only slightly. She crossed her arms, trying to match his casual posture. Cursing Lyubov for making them wear nametags, Emily decided against asking the boy for his name. It would make him think he was something interesting, which he clearly didn’t have a problem with anyways. Despite his lack of ponytail, Emily decided to use her former nickname.

“Oh hey there, Ponytail. Decided to have a little fun bowling?"

Though he tried to appear at ease, Emily got the feeling that he had no idea what was going on at the bowling alley. At least that meant he could very well be as awful at bowling as she was. At the mention of Quidditch teams, Emily perked up. Apparently he had made his house’s team, and seemed to be fantasizing about hitting her with a Bludger. Great. As much as she wanted to smack the smirk right off his face, Emily forced herself to remain calm.

“As a matter of fact, I did make the team. You’re looking at a Chaser for Cetus here. I hope you’ve been practicing; it’ll be a lot harder to hit me next time… Not that you were very successful with that in the first place.” Emily flipped her ponytail over her shoulder and smirked right back at him.
