Beka Hiemer (Aquila)
Wed Jan 29, 2014 17:29

Beka was excited to be back to RMI. She loved her family, and of course she had been happy to see them again (not to mention the fact that her dad had gotten her another appliance to take apart put back together again.) But she missed her friends, and couldn't help but think longingly of showing Brielle, Emily, or Cora her woods, that had been beautifully covered in snow. Still were, now that she thought about it. She knew that all three of them would absolutely adore the network of caves that crisscrossed underneath the forest. Though she might have to mention that she would appreciate it if they didn't talk about them around her parents: need-to-know basis and all that.

Upon returning to the school she had promptly spent the next twelve hours catching up on the holiday homework. (Why the teachers thought that they needed holiday assignments that simple she couldn't fathom.) She then had gone to do a couple of rounds on the Quidditch Field and dropped into bed exausted.

The next couple of weeks had passed in a flash. Back into the routine of schoolwork, homework, and boredom, with a few moments of absolute fun hanging out with friends, exploring, practicing Quidditch, and raising money for a prank (inconspicously of course) which is why the announcement that they were going to the surface for a field trip had excited Beka to the extreme.

She had never actually been in Pearl Street Mall. When the first years had been portkeyed to RMI they had landed in the Finer Diner, and she couldn't participate in the bowling bash because she was only a humble little firstie who wasn't in student council. Or, maybe a not-so-humble little firstie who wasn't in student council. Whatever the case she had zoned out the rest of Proffesor Blair's speech.

Ever since Proffesor Blair had caught Nyx and herself putting baking soda and viniger into the microwave she had had a grudging respect for the woman. She teased about frowning and nodding when a teacher started interrogating you (which really was a good plan) but not many people caught Beka on unawares like that. Which was why Beka had glared suspiciously at her as she had clamped her bracelet on. Beka didn't like being tagged in any way. She just wanted to have fun.

The scavenger hunt looked to be fun. She had grown up very close to both her parents, and had quite literally gotten the best of both worlds. She wasn't clueless in the magical world, and she wasn't clueless in the muggle one.

She looked around for one of her friends, but seeing Cora had already partnered up she smiled mischeviously. Putting her cupped hands to her mouth she yelled as loud as she could (attracting some very strange glances from the muggles passing by) "ANYONE WANT TO PARTNER UP!?" Leaning satisfied on a nearby counter she waited until one of the many heads turning her way decided they wanted to have a partner who actually knew how to have fun.
