Oliver was really glad Monet had suggested this now. It was challenging, exciting, and definitely worth the empty time between now and the end of study hall. Once he and Monet had finished pulling books off the shelves just enough to make foot and hand-holes in the right places, he stood back and looked at their work. It was beautiful. "We can levitate them down or something when we get there," he whispered back. They'd just have to be careful not to knock everything over. Though Oliver was great at fixing spells, having used them even before he was technically allowed to use magic, he wasn't good enough to fix a fallen bookcase and suffer the librarian's wrath.

Oliver didn't even have to reply to Monet's question. Racing was always the fun part! He went to the other side of her, glad they had made two sets of hand/foot holes. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair. This wood was different from climbing a tree, but it was still wood, right? Sleek and polished, but whatever. The moment Monet said, "Go!" Oliver set off to climb. It was easy, but the difficult part was the fact that the bookcase wobbled. He gripped it when he felt his foot slip and the whole bookcase tremble. It set a blast of adrenaline through him and his heart pounded quickly in his chest. But the exhilaration of doing something dangerous was the fun of it.

"Climbing trees is probably harder. Except this is more fun just because no one would even think of climbing a bookcase." Another wobble and Oliver held on, allowing it to pass. He took a breath before reaching to pull himself up higher. "And more exciting! This was a great idea!" He grinned at Monet as he pulled himself up higher. He really wanted to sit on top of the bookcase if he got there as a sort of victory thing, but he didn't think the librarian would appreciate that. And they'd get in trouble which was what they were trying to avoid. "So what will the winner get?" Oliver asked. Since it was Monet's idea, it was only fair that she got to pick the prize too.
