Astien Badeaux [Draco]
Welcome back everyone. I never left.
Thu Jan 23, 2014 17:56

Astien lazily ambled into the library, perching upon his favorite seat in the room. He felt the cushion fold familiarly under his weight, heard the wood creaking once again as he levied his weight upon it. The scenery, the chair, the faint smell of musty pages; the scene was firmly cemented in his mind by now, as he’d spent the past two weeks in this very room. He’d normally have sat himself in one of the booths and set to work with the spellwork, but he was in the middle of a very interesting book, and a few more chapters wouldn’t hurt.

A brief, small smile flickered across his face as he gazed towards his fellow students. The school has been quite lonely over the course of the break, and while he was not averse to solitude, he did find some comfort within the company of his peers. He’d been slightly disappointed when he’d been informed that his parents hadn’t been able to arrive for the family day—they had made plans to attend, but some sudden situation had demanded their attention. However, it was nothing that he wasn’t used to.

Christmas had been kind to him, new books (mostly fiction, although he had received one biology book and two compilations of potion recipes that he was eager to put to use in the Potions Club), but those were standard. The true surprise had been the house elf appearing in his room and handing over a small, dark gray kitten with jade green eyes. Agamemnon appeared to be very easy going and subdued, a paragon of his owner.

Smiling in reminiscence of his cat, he flipped another page and continued on his literary journey.
