Okay, there was one thing Braelyn was tired of, and yelling was one of them. She couldn’t complain too much this time, seeing that she’d snapped at Milo first, but she didn’t know why she did that. Ever since breakfast, she’d felt more and more restless, unable to keep her mouth shut. It wasn’t a good time to come talk to Milo. She’d like to say her anger had built up until she couldn’t take it anymore. Something told her that wasn’t it.
Whatever made her speak her mind obviously didn’t sit well with Milo. How dare she tell him what she thought? The pureblood girl knew better, and she knew that he knew better, yet she did it anyway. Silly Braelyn.
“I’m not a blood traitor!” His words continued to interrupt her; she doubted he could hear her feeble protests. “And I never said you were without honor, but what else am I supposed to think?” Her protests didn’t matter, nothing mattered, because now he really hurting her. She gasped a little as his fingers dug into her skin. She took a moment to be thankful that he wasn’t anywhere near the tattoos she’d gained during midterm. Pain did not sound like an enjoyable plan.
And then…nothing made sense.
While Andy’s kiss was soft and gentle, Milo’s was angry and rough. Her boyfriend never would have kissed her like this. And while instinct told her to push him away, stop both of them from such shameful behavior in the middle of the library, but something told her not to. This wasn’t just a kiss. Milo…was trying to say something? What was he trying to say?
It was surprising that Braelyn managed to keep herself from speaking while Milo kissed her despite the urge to burst. She didn’t know what to do. Now she wasn’t just breaking rules in her pureblood world anymore. She dated a Muggleborn. This, kissing Milo, broke rules in the Muggle world, too. Adisynne explained the differences in Muggle dating than in pureblood dating. Well, at least how Adisynne saw it. While sexually interacting with others was simply ignored in the big, dark pureblood circles, it was much more taboo in the Muggle world. More rules than Braelyn ever imagined were being broken.
She pulled out of the kiss when she couldn’t handle being silent anymore. “I…wow. Andersson would never, I mean, what’s going on?” The words bubbled over, spilling from her racing subconscious, without any attempts to stop. “You say you don’t care about me, and then you kiss me. Why? Make a decision!”
