Aerin flat out couldn’t cope with study hall – she was unable to sit still and do work for such a long period of time. The second-year worked best when she multitasked and took multiple short breaks each hour. It wasn’t the best system, as her grades clearly showed, but Aerin wasn’t quite sure how she could improve it given her fidgetiness. Maybe ZakAttack would be able to help her with that. She had yet to approach him with her study-mentor idea, but she was convinced that he would help her out because that’s what friends did, and Zakir was definitely her friend.
As mesmerizing as Madame Toladeri’s bubbles were, Aerin knew that she ought to leave the room if she wanted to survive study hall. The librarian didn’t seem like she’d appreciate Aerin’s study method very much. The second-year’s eyes zeroed in on the perfect study group as soon as she stepped out of the room. Seth would provide distraction and Zakir would make sure she stayed on task. What more could she ask for?
The Cetus ambled over to the table with a great smile on her face. She was for the most part completely oblivious to the tension between the two boys. “My name is Zakir Adir and I am the son of Miano Adir.” Aerin rolled her eyes before realizing she probably shouldn’t do that to her mentor. Try as she might, she couldn’t avoid jumping into the conversation. “Some people call him ZakAttack.” She winked at Zakir. “Hey guys! How’s it going?” Without waiting for an invitation she sat down at the table and then began imitating Zakir’s desk setup with her own work.
