Tucker didn't really like study hall. First of all, he didn't really enjoy studying period. Or sitting still and being quiet. Further more, it just another time that someone was telling him to be in a certain place at a certain time and what he had to do while he was there. Tucker really didn't like that. That was also part of why he didn't like school sponsored clubs.
The Aquila was a boy who preferred his freedom. Doing his own thing. Even his older sisters really didn't boss him around that much because Grace was a kind, sweet, not at all bossy type and Alison just plain didn't give a crap. Not unless he bothered her, like about her boyfriend that she had written to over the summer. Of course, Ali had insisted Keeley was just a friend and threatened to turn Tucker's hair pink if the second year dared suggest such a thing again.
Which had given the Aquila an idea. Last year, one of the Ceti, Rebecca Brandon, had cheated in the Quidditch finals and had basically gotten away with nothing but detention. From what Tucker had seen, the fourth year was nothing but a notorious troublemaker who thought she was better than everyone and could get away with doing anything that she wanted-and Bailey had let her. Detention for that was nothing but a slap on the wrist, a more appropriate punishment for skipping study hall or something and honestly, Tucker had lost a bit of respect for his cousin.
The Cetus needed to be taught a much more brutal lesson. Not only had she cheated in the game, but pulled an unprovoked malicious prank on the entire student body. Tucker could see doing so on a sibling or someone who had done something to you, but that had been uncalled for. Plus it had humiliated that older Cetus girl Brida and made her cry and Tucker didn't really like to see girls cry. Even though he'd made his sisters cry before. Though not Alison, she just yelled and swore and threatened him-and the fifth year was not really as good at swearing as that foul mouthed firstie girl from Cultural Studies. That had been rather impressive.
The librarian glared at them all and began to speak. Tucker rolled his eyes. Another reason he didn't like study hall much was that Ms. Toladaeri was a complete bonafide absolute nutcase. The woman was totally and utterly deranged. Like there was something wrong with her and she should be in a padded room and not around kids or people in general because she was probably a danger to herself and others. Tucker would not be surprised in the least if she had an excessive amount of cats in her quarters.
Wait, had she just said they could study outside this room in small groups? Now, how in Merlin's name would she know if they were actually studying if they left the room? Quite irresponsible but certainly it worked to Tucker's advantage. "Hey," he said to the person next to him "Wanna get out of here?" The Aquila didn't especially care where they went but basically the whackjob had just set them free. If she wanted to risk her job, no skin off his nose.
