Matt couldn’t help but look smug as he walked in for the first SGA meeting of the year. At first it had seemed miraculous that the fourth-years had selected him as representative, but then reality kicked in. Of course they had picked him, he was Matt Archer. Yes, it was the dawning of a new era at RMI.

The Cetus grabbed a seat and then eyed his competition. These seven people were clearly the most popular in the school, at once his allies and his enemies. This meeting would help him judge them and strategize his take over of the school. Matt took a swig from the drink he had brought with him to the table. He wasn’t actually thirsty, but he figured it would add an effect when he spoke up. For now, he was content to check people out over the rim of the glass.

The fourth-year kept his face neutral as the meeting started. His plan was to sit back and let the others talk, thus revealing their true colors, and then swipe in at the end and steal the show. That was when one of the younger representatives spoke up. The idea of an ‘80s party was absolutely reprehensible. This boy clearly needed to be squashed.

Matt was about to speak up when thankfully, an older representative intervened. Matt made a mental note in his head to forge an alliance with him. The quiz show idea wasn’t bad, the Cetus mused.

“If we have a dance we could have a raffle to go along with it. I was also thinking we could have a sort of fashion-talent show mix where the best guy and girl are crowned. We could call it Mr. and Mrs. RMI or something like that.” Ah, whatever. No one else was speaking up anyways.
